Yesterday, my husband completely prepared and led a Messianic Passover Seder for our family. He did all the planning, shopping and preparation, while I stood by as a helpful assistant!
A Passover Seder is the celebration that Jesus had before His death, with His disciples in the Upper Room. We call this the Last Supper and it foreshadows Jesus' death and illuminates those things prophesied from long ago. My favorite part of the Seder is called the Dayenu which means "It would have been suffucient." This takes place right before that prayer for the Passover meal and it places emphasis on God's great mercy and goodness towards His people. The leader of the Seder recites a list of God's miraculous works, while everyone else says "It would have been sufficient."
If the Lord had merely rescued us, but had not judged the Egyptians,
-It would have been sufficient!
If He had only destroyed their gods, but had not parted the Red Sea,
-It would have been sufficient!
If He had only drowned our enemies, but had not fed us with manna,
-It would have been sufficient!
If He had only led us through the desert, but had not given us the Sabbath,
-It would have been sufficient!
If He had only given us the Torah, but not the land of Israel,
-It would have been sufficient!
Blessed are You, O God, for You have, in mercy, supplied all our needs. You have given us Messiah, forgiveness for sin, life abundant and life everlasting. Hallelujah!
-It would have been sufficient!
God is so good, and when we look at the things He has given us, one by one, we see that each act of love would have been sufficient by itself. But He chooses to shower us with blessings simply because He loves us!

It would have been sufficient!
