Purchasing fabric online

Living in a small town has it's advantages, but good places to shop is not one of them! Online fabric shopping has proven to be a good alternative for me because our closest fabric store is 1-1/2 hours away. Rather than spending all day driving, I can just click on some of my favorite sites and get what I need! Here are some online stores that I like to visit:

Hancock's of Paducah--They have a great online catalog and an excellent selection!
Cia's Palette
Suzie Q Quilts
Fat Quarter Shop
The fabrics that I have purchased from these sites have all been high-quality and their service has been great. They have good return policies and low shipping prices.

A couple of disadvantages when buying fabric online are problems with color matching and overspending. Since you can't place two or more fabrics side by side to see if they match, you may end up returning a few items. If you are not in a hurry, take the chance and will probably find yourself pleasantly surprised by your fabric choices. Also, you may want to consider setting a "budget" because it is easy to overspend when all it takes is a credit card to buy anything your little heart desires!

Online fabric shopping can be convenient and fun when a fabric store is not close-by. And just think, you can always go shopping after the kids are in bed since the store is as close as your computer!

Enjoy!
