With all the negative and sad stories about the hurricane, I am glad to have come across a couple of links that show that we Americans really know how to take care of each other when times get tough!

A local family is accepting donations for non-perishable food, toiletries, and baby supplies, and they will be driving these items down to the coast ( on their own dime, by the way) next week. Click here to read the article in my small town's newpaper.

A Small Victory is a blog that is posting "good news" stories taking place down in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. There are opportunities to donate if you feel so inclined. I found the picture below on the blog and it shows four girls on September 1, 2005, in Brighton, NY, collecting money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They will be donating the money to the American Red Cross.

I just wanted to share a couple of positive things coming out of this horrific situation!
