Happy Fourth of July!

Fourth of July at our house always consists of friends, food and fun! We are having a barbeque and MAYBE a pool party, but I think the flood watch in the forecast may cancel out the swimming festivities and replace it with board games in the house. We also have a fire ban in effect so no fireworks in the driveway after dark. ;( Ah, there is still fun to be had!

On the menu today:

Hamburgers
Hot Dogs
Bean Dip with tortilla chips
Deviled Eggs
Blueberry Pie
Homeade Ice Cream Sandwiches
And all the other stuff that comes with our guests!
Aubry has created a costume for today, can you guess who she is? The honey and the little red shirt might be a give-away:
She is this little guy, one of my faves:
And, yes, she is planning on wearing this for our party this afternoon! I can't decide if I think this is super-cute or if I want to wear a t-shirt that says, "She dresses herself!". Either way, I just love this kid!

I wish all of you a great day! And always remember that our true freedom is in Christ alone!

Enjoy!

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not
with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show
of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the
potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have
overeaten, but it is patriotism.
