Not in Vain

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain:
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

-Emily Dickinson

Yesterday my grandma died, she was 100 years old. Her life, while lacking in material success, was rich in the love she shared with others. I will always remember walks with her, making donuts together, listening to radio programs at night when I slept over at her house and her teaching me to crochet. She always gave the best of herself to me. Her life was not lived in vain. She will be greatly missed.
